WASHINGTON, D.C. (11 April 2008) — American Life League reveals American Idol's agenda behind Wednesday night's 'Idol Gives Back' fundraising telethon. By the close of Wednesday night's telethon, the campaign raised $60 million for Children's Defense Fund, Children's Health Fund, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, Make it Right, Malaria No More, and Save the Children."'Idol Gives Back,' on the surface, seems to be motivated by good intentions," said Erik Whittington, director for American Life League's youth program. "But, the reality is that American Idol is funding non-profits, such as Save the Children and The Children's Defense Fund, that promote immorality and abortion on demand."

In 2001, Save the Children worked with pro-abortion organizations such as Planned Parenthood, the Population Action Council, and the Audubon Society on its five-year "Planet Campaign." Save the Children has stated that "family planning" is a critical component of its work."The term 'family planning' is code for contraception, sex-ed programs, and abortion on demand," said Whittington. "Like Save the Children, The Children's Defense Fund and its founder also have ties to abortion advocacy groups, pushing their agenda on kids.""People who truly care about the well being of children around the world need to get the facts and support truly pro-child and pro-family charities."American Life League was co-founded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death.

It would appear American Idol is doing some real good with the money they raise. We need to be careful not to condemn the entire effort just because some of the organizations contributed have shady connections. The spirit here is to truly help children, not to promote a political agenda. Whenever we use our God given resources to support a charity we must pray and ask The Lord for discernment and when we give, make sure to bless the donation and ask God to bless the group so they will do His will.
John 3:19
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

When we invoke God’s blessings we fight the spiritual battle. Angels show up to do battle with the demons staking claim to the hearts of our enemies.

Is that what the article said? I missed something.

To me it would appear you are condemning AIGV because Save the Children made a contribution to PPH several years earlier in 2001. Do they still participate in PPH and if so does American Idols effort to make a difference then void?

On the Save The Children website, April 30, 2008, you will find the following statement, which is in conflict with Catholic teaching***

Save the Children provides " access to information and services that couples need to delay or prevent pregnancy."

http://www.savethechildren.org/programs/health/adolescent-health/reproductive-health.html

***Of course it is possible that Save the Children teaches natural childbirth. In which case, there would be no conflict.

Have you ever heard the theory 6 degrees of separation? Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person he or she knows and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people he or she knows, then everyone is an average of six "steps" away from each person on Earth.
So if you want to really nitpick you are supporting the very thing you’re criticizing AI for. In fact if you pay taxes, guess what? I think this is one of the few shows on TV you can actually watch without being bombarded by the works of Satan. No one is having sex, no one is getting murdered, no one is stealing, no one uses foul language and to top it off they make an honest effort to change the lives of children in need.

Building Up Others
by Mac Hammond

Have you ever noticed how some people consistently tear you down, while others seem to have the ability to build you up? When you've been built up, you've experienced something the Bible calls "edification." Edification is a fancy-sounding Bible word, but it comes from a Greek word that simply means to rebuild that which has been torn down.

In First Thessalonians 5:11, we're encouraged to "edify one another." As you encounter others today, make a decision to be a person who is known as an "edifier." God's winning word for you today is "edification."

American Idol Contestant Mocked for Christian Beliefs by Idol Host
By Warner Todd Huston

Now, I have never seen this show, so you'll have to excuse me if I am misunderstanding the whole American Idol "thing," OK? As I seem to recall, the deal is that you sing for a washed up 80s pop star, a fat guy no one ever heard of and some English dude and they rate you on your talent. Right? Or is it that they are supposed to rate you on your sex life and moral beliefs? Because, it seems that host Ryan Seacrest has given some unwanted "advice" to a recent contestant that offered that at 19 he'd never kissed a girl. In response, Seacrest told him to "go kiss some girls," and hoped that once he came back to audition again he'd "come back less a boy and more a man." This did not amuse contestant Bruce Dickson who says the reason he'd never kissed a girl was because of his Christian moral convictions.

So, is being a Christian with closely held moral convictions now a disqualifying thing to be a proper contestant on TV's American Idol? If Seacrest has anything to say about it, it would seem so.

CNSnews is reporting the outrageous mocking of Dickson's religious morals.

When the 19-year-old from Bastrop, Texas, was asked to share something about himself, he said he'd never kissed a girl.

"What?" Randy Jackson asked. "On purpose?"

"On purpose," Dickson said. "I want to save everything for that one special woman. On my wedding day, that will be my first kiss."

Jackson's advice to Dickson after the judges sent him packing: "Go kiss some girls."

Simon Cowell, eyebrows raised, told him cryptically: "Avoid Ryan (Seacrest) on the way out."

Seacrest himself ended the segment featuring Dickson with these words: "Maybe next year he'll come back less a boy and more a man."

Is this what a singer on American Idol signs up for? Somehow I doubt that Seacrest would make so much fun of a girl that told them she had been with 20 guys by the time she was 19.

For his part, Bruce Dickson is standing true to his principles. He told CNSnews that,"a real man would rather wait than just do whatever with whoever."

Good for him not to let these immoral, blowhards to shake him from his ideals.

Of course, we all know that this is an attack on both Christianity and homeschooling.

Dickson said his family is Christian and attends a non-denominational church. He and his siblings are home-schooled. Dickson did attend two Christian schools in high school so that he could play sports. He was crowned homecoming king in his senior year at Vacaville High School, in Vacaville, Calif.

Fortunately, Dickson isn't going to let this all get him down. He's said he'll continue to try for a singing career and his beliefs aren't to be shaken by the loose morals of a Ryan Seacrest. And young Mr. Dickson is fortunate to have a family that is there to help him.

"I think of myself as a regular guy...This is an important thing for me, and I knew I might not be able to handle it on my own, so I asked my father to help me."

So, good for this young man and I wish him luck on his future endeavors.

Now, I have one last question. Does Ryan Seacrest really have any discernible talent?

Anyone?

Beuller?

Jesus loves these people as much as he loves you, I’m sure you wouldn’t want this kind of language used by your children.

Thank you Jesus for guiding your children to witness for you, to those who live in the world.

Many of God’s servants have appeared on this show despite the beliefs of Ryan Seacrest.

But they are not The fans of American Idol. You want to see bad comments then go to U-Tube, we live in a world controlled by darkness, but even the smallest light penetrates darkness.

When the 19-year-old from Bastrop, Texas, was asked to share something about himself, he said he'd never kissed a girl.

"What?" Randy Jackson asked. "On purpose?" Current culture promotes the opinion “if it feels good do it” why are you surprised.

Is this what a singer on American Idol signs up for?

Christ guarantees Christians will be persecuted. Are these contestants modern day saints? Do you always stand up for Jesus!
This is what Jesus wants us to sign up for.

Of course, we all know that this is an attack on both Christianity and homeschooling.

Why did you home school your Christian warriors! Send them into the battle! It’s not about us; it’s about winning the VICTORY for the Kingdom God.

I think it is amazing how many Christians have been on this show and how their tiny light has been an inspiration for others.
