This past two weeks we have been attending the Life in the Spirit seminar. We are preparing to offer this at our church and thought it would be a good idea to attend and get some pointers. Much of the presentation was as I expected and have already experienced. One thing I continue to find interesting is the way God calls His children to repentance, healing and restoration. We have so many brothers and sister who are hurting. Some of them turn to all kinds of popular new age remedies to heal their inner hurts and physical problems. Yet the Lord in His infinite mercy still calls them and guides them to a place where they can receive Him and be healed. As in the past one such person (I’ll call her May) attended this seminar. During the workshop to pray as intercessors and anoint blessed oil (not to be confused with the blessed sacramental oil used by the priest), May became very nervous. I have seen this before and so have a few of the people we were in attendance with. As we progressed, going from person to person May kept moving from chair to chair to avoid being prayed over. She has been called by the Lord but the New Age spirits oppressing her refused to let her free. In the past we have prayed for people suffering heavily from oppression and many times there is a big scene as the spirits are bound, cast out and sent to Jesus. Oppression is a real occurrence and not limited to occult activity. We never did get to pray over May, the Lord either protected us or her, but I have to admire her for fighting the demons and answering God’s call. Pray for all those afflicted by demons, that the Lord strengthen them and guide them. Thank you Jesus.

An interesting and helpful book about New Age spirits is

Ransomed from Darkness: The New Age, Christian Faith, and the Battle for Souls by Moira Noonan

Amazon still sells it, but you must order it from the marketplace.

This review from Amazon explains the book well:

This book grabs you and will not let you go until you are finished. If one is unconvinced regarding the dangers of New Thought and the New Age, this book is a MUST read.

The chapters are incredibly taught and well edited. This makes the book lean and "quick reading." But these same chapters, while lean, are chock full of one of the most compelling and emotional conversion stories I have ever read.

The author was deeply involved in the New Age. She was a practicing psychic and clairvoyant. I grew up in California and was literally surrounded by the same culture this author talks about. The dangers she shares are real.

The author of this book, perhaps unsurprisingly, has become a charismatic Catholic.

Moira Noonan is a VERY SOLID CATHOLIC and Catholics of all stripes should read this book and get to know how the enemy of our souls is duping many of us.

This is a great book.

Does anyone know if Amazon still supports Planned Parenthood? I know they used to be on the boycott list, but I'm not sure about the current status of that....

I was just wondering because the book does sound interesting....and there are a ton of places that do support Planned Parenthood and of course I cant boycott them all, but I try to do the ones where other options are readily available.... so that's why I ask. If anyone has an update on it, I'd appreciate that. Thanks.

Sarah

You can also get this book from Michael Brown's website www.spiritdaily.com under "books-video-store" on the lower left side of the page. Once in the bookstore, click on the "spiritual warfare" section.

Another book you might be interested in is titled "The New Age Counterfeit" by Johnette Benkovich (sp?). It's really eye opening too. It gets into a lot of the stuff showing up at Catholic religious houses across the country, such as labyrinths, reiki(sp?) and more. EWTN's religious catalogue/bookstore carries this. At least it did when I got my copy.

Pro-life Sara, I'm interested in knowing where I can get a list of places that support planned parenthood. I found one site, but they require you to purchase the list. Is there anywhere one can go without having to pay for it?

Amazon is not listed on the PP supporters list here: http://www.cogforlife.org/ppsupporters.htm

Anyway, Amazon no longer sells the book. The book is out of print.

Amazon Marketplace sells it. If you purchase it from them, you might be purchasing it from a homeschooling mom.

Thanks Buckster. Good to know.... I actually purchased the list a few years ago, but am going to send away for another soon. I'm just so discombobulated right now with everything all over the place. May just wait until the move is done or at least more of it...

And do you like being called Buckster? Is that your nickname as well as your screen name? Just wondering? And I assume you have a dog like your avatar?

Take Care and God Bless,

Sarah,

Buckster is the name I use on the internet. I don't mind being called Buckster either. Blut the name isn't my nick-name. In real-life I'm a Nicky. I use his name as an ode to my wonderfully big, and slobbery, 13-year-old black lab named Buck. Buckster is actually his nickname. My husband brought him to the marriage. Lets just say that he didn't warm up to me right away. But after many hilariaous adventures, including giving me a serious case of road rash after dragging me across pavement to chase a squirrel up a tree, we're now best of buddies.

Ha ha ha.... cute. Although I'm sure it wasn't cute at the time! :) Buckster it is then. Thanks so much for the lovely story. It creates a great picture for a nice laugh (not at your expense of course!) :)

Speaking of New Age, few Presidents have told us they are leading us into the New Age. Sounds like End Times prophesy unfolding!
