Well, I guess he didn't mince words,

Cardinal Rivera denounces excesses of reporters who “destroy the reputation of others”

Mexico City, Dec 20, 2007 / 12:22 pm (CNA).- The Archbishop of Mexico City, Cardinal Norberto Rivera, denounced the excess of reporters who “destroy the dignity, the good name of people” with no regard for whether they are innocent or not. “They don’t kill man’s body, but they are a snake that destroys the reputation of others.”

In a Mass celebrated at a female prison facility, the cardinal referenced reporters who don’t seek the truth but rather seek to profit by creating scandals like “true prostitutes of the media” for whom “there is no other justice than that which they dictate.”

Can you guys, gals, imagine what would happen here if a Cardinal were to call reporters "true prostitutes of the media?"

Ouch!

I'd like to trade him for more than one of our Cardinals - and I'll be nice enough not to name names. Mexico City is lucky to have this man as their shepherd.

Jesus meek and humble of heart, make my heart like yours.

DeniseLawson,

Perhaps the Holy Father should make him the Cardinal Archbishop of Caracas, Venezuela. Can you imagine what he would say to Chávez?

You kidding? He'd blister Chavez. I was thinking he'd be well received in Los Angeles, among other places...

Hi Denise Lawson,

The Mexican Cardinal is exactly what is needed either in Caracas or in Los Angeles.
