Bulletin offers humor The following was printed in The Evangelist, a newsletter from St. John the Evange-list, Hydes: Church football Backfield-in-Motion – Making a trip to the back (restroom or water fountain) during the service. Benchwarmer – Those who do not sing, pray, kneel or apparently do anything at all but sit. Draw Play – What many children do with the bulletin during worship. Flex Defense – The ability to allow absolutely nothing said during the sermon to affect your life. QuarterbackSneak–Church members quietly leaving during the invocation. Two-Minute Warning – The point at which you realize the service is almost over and begin to gather up your children and belongings. End Run – Getting out of church quickly, without speaking to any guest or fellow members. Blitz – The rush for restaurants following the closing prayer.

“Everyone needs thirty minutes of personal prayer time each day, unless they are too busy to pray—in which case, they need an hour!” Saint Francis de Sales
