I picked up a copy of Letters of Saint Paul during the Charismatic convention in Anaheim this summer, and am just now reading it. Coincidentally my wife and I have been attending a series of teachings on Saint Paul’s letters by a visiting priest at our local parish. I love Saint Paul and highly recommend anyone interested in learning more about their faith to participate in a class like this.
At the same time I have been trying to inform friends about the reasons they should not vote for any Democratic candidate because of the party platform. Platform being the agenda on which you stand with the candidate. When you stand with the candidate you are a willing partner and culpable in the eyes of God.
“A More Perfect Union - Democrats will fight to end discrimination based on race, sex, ethnicity, national origin, language, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, and disability in every corner of our country, because that’s the America we believe in. We support the full inclusion of all families, including same-sex couples, in the life of our nation, and support equal responsibility, benefits, and protections. We will enact a comprehensive bipartisan employment non-discrimination act. We oppose the Defense of Marriage Act and all attempts to use this issue to divide us.”
Check out how this coincides with the first letter to the Romans, 1:26-32: Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper. They are filled with every form of wickedness, evil, greed, and malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, and spite. They are gossips and scandalmongers and they hate God. They are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness, and rebellious toward their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Amazing how much we have changed……..not!
