Heh all....
Another quick little question for you...I believe the answer is no and that it is a personal decision about when/where in the Mass, but is there anything in the Catechism that says pictures cannot be taken during the Mass?
A personal preference of mine is to not take pictures during the Consecration, but it is a personal preference. I did, however, take pictures at my Godson's First Communion this weekend and was told that I wasn't supposed to be doing that (while at least twenty other people were doign the same thing and nothing was said to them). I did not take pictures during the Consecration, but it was Tyler's First Communion and I wanted to make a on-line photo album of his big day to help him recall and cherish it. So when he came up to receive the Eucharist, I took his picture (as did others) and one of the church workers said "You are not supposed to take pictures of the sacrament." Isn't that a personal preference, or was I truly in the wrong? Furthermore, I always thought the sacrament was at the Consecration and the reception of the Sacrament was after? Of course, this was his First Holy Communion, so I guess the sacrament would be in the reception as well here.... but pictures are taken during weddings....ordinations....baptisms.... and though I didn't take pictures of the Consecration out of respect for Our Lord, I didn't know of any restrictions against that..... any thoughts?
Take Care and God Bless, Sarah
